Blood Pressure: Know Your Numbers at Home

Let’s face it: Blood pressure isn’t exactly something we think about every day. But National Blood Pressure Education Month is a great reminder to check in on one of the most important numbers for your health.

Nearly 1 in 2 adults in the U.S. (48.1%, or around 119.9 million people) have high blood pressure—and only 1 in 4 of them actually have it under control. That’s a pretty big deal considering high blood pressure can lead to serious problems like heart attacks, strokes, and kidney disease.

Why At-Home Monitoring Matters

Here’s the thing: You don’t have to wait for a doctor’s appointment to know where your blood pressure stands. Checking it at home is one of the easiest ways to stay on top of your health, and it gives you real-time insights that can help you catch issues early or track your progress.

At-home monitoring is especially helpful if:
  • You’ve already been diagnosed with high blood pressure
  • You're on medication and need to see if it’s working
  • You just want to stay proactive and in control of your health

Make it Easy with the Right Tools

To make home monitoring a breeze, we offer a full range of easy-to-use blood pressure equipment, including:
  • Connected Digital: The Advantage Connect 6024N with Bluetooth connectivity is an upper-arm unit that allows you to pair with our free ADC@Home App and seamlessly transfer data and readings to your smartphone or other hand-held device.
  • Digital: The Advantage 6021N is our best-selling fully automatic upper-arm digital home blood pressure monitor.
  • Manual: The Prosphyg 790 Home Blood Pressure Kit is a great upper-arm choice for those who prefer to take traditional, manual readings.

Let’s Talk Cuffs

When it comes to getting an accurate blood pressure reading, cuff size is just as important as the unit itself. A cuff that’s too small or too large can throw off your numbers, so choosing the right fit is key.

Both our Advantage 6021N and Prosphyg 790 can be purchased with one of three cuff sizes: Small Adult, Adult, and Large Adult. (The specific limb ranges vary slightly between the two models.) The Advantage Connect 6024N is sold with an Adult cuff for arm ranges of 8.7'' to 16.5'' (22 cm to 42 cm), but Small Adult and Large Adult cuffs can be purchased separately.

Whether you’re keeping an eye on things for yourself or a loved one, having the right equipment makes all the difference. Browse our blood pressure monitors and find the one that fits your lifestyle.
