Using the ADviewer software in my practice

The ADviewer software is designed to enable a practitioner to simply RETRIEVE and EXPORT readings from the ADC ADview 9001 Bluetooth unit using their Bluetooth enabled PC. Readings can be exported to an HL7 v2.4 OR v3.0 format, TIFF image, PDF, or directly to a printer. To get started with the ADviewer software please review the Quick Start Guide. The documentation below describes some important notes users should know when using the software in their practice: 

• What readings are transmitted are determined by the time and date of the last reading taken on the device. Any reading within 5 minutes of the last reading will be transmitted.
• Time stamps are associated with each reading. This information is displayed on the printed report.
• When clearing readings using the "Clear Readings" button, the readings on the device will also be cleared
• Readings displayed on screen are selectable and can be simply copied into any EMR solution.

Troubleshooting the ADviewer software

• It is important to note the COM port that the ADview is paired to as described in our Quick Start Guide.
• Ensure that the unit is powered on and your computers bluetooth radio is powered on.
• Ensure the softwares COM port is selected on the settings screen. This is a one time setup, your selection will be saved automatically.
• On some systems the COM connection can take some time to connect and disconnect based on signal strength and system load. If you are having problems connecting give the software a couple of seconds and try again.

HL7 File Output Support

Starting with version 1.0.7 readings can be exported in HL7 v2.4 OR v3.0 file formats. In order to start exporting readings in HL7 you must first tell the software what version you want to export in AND the directory on your computer to store the reading files. This directory can then be used with your EMR solution provider to import into your patients EMR record. These settings are configured by clicking the "Settings" button in the lower left hand corner of the screen.
