ADCs Quality Control
Proprietary equipment used in our Hauppauge, NY facility to ensure strict adherence to government and even more stringent ADC performance standards.
Clinical Dynamics AccuPulse™ NIBP Simulator
![]() |
The Clinical Dynamics AccuPulse™ NIBP Simulator can be used with a wide range of automated sphygmomanometers to generate a realistic pulse and blood pressure. Accurate to ±0.25 mmHg throughout a typical blood pressure range, the NIBP simulator can also be used to test pulse measurement with a simulated pulse that is accurate to ±1 bpm at 15-200 bpm or ±2 bpm at 201-330 bpm.
Yokogawa MT10
![]() |
The accuracy of both aneroid gauges as well as automated sphygmomanometers is tested to ANSI/AAMI standards using the Yokogawa MT10 pressure sensor. Accurate to +/- 0.1 mmHg, this digital device ensures proper calibration of our most sensitive products.
Torque Testing
To ensure smooth operation, stethoscope chestpiece samples are subjected to torque testing. Only chestpieces that rotate cleanly and lock into place properly are used in ADC stethoscopes.
Acoustic Test Machine
![]() |
The Acoustic Test Machine is used to benchmark acoustic quality for each of our stethoscope models. We test stethoscopes from each production lot to ensure consistent acoustic performance, lot after lot, year after year. In addition, ADC has given some thought to developing leakage standards by testing how many decibels of sound can pass through the inactive side of a stethoscope's chestpiece. This would allow the comparison of new designs to existing stethoscopes in order to determine acoustic quality.
Valve Leak Test

![]() |
![]() |
We hold our valves to leakage standards three times more stringent than government requirements.
Bladder Leak Test
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
We leak test our bladders twice. Every one is tested once, immediately after manufacture. We randomly test them a second time prior to assembly.
Cuff Hook and Loop Durability Test
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
The hook and loop adhesive on ADC's ADCUFF series cuffs is designed to withstand a minimum of 30,000 open/close cycles. Our 'bionic' arm can simulate 5000 cycles per day.
Measuring dimensional conformance
![]() |
We measure the dimensions of critical components like binaurals and cartridge tubes to ensure consistent performance.
Gauge accuracy test
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
Gauges are inspected up to six different times before being assembled into one of our sphygmomanometers. Here we test accuracy of the manometer at 5 points on our accuracy test machine.
Gauge life cycle test
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
One out of every 1000 gauges is subjected to this destructive test that simulates 30,000 cycles in just 3 days. Once the gauges are put through this test, we bench them again to ensure they remain just as accurate as this did before the very first cycle.
Thermometer test machine
![]() |
![]() |
Our thermometers are tested in our black body test device which tests different temperature variations and ensures the accuracy of our thermometers. These tests are conducted in accordance with relevant ANSI/ASTM standards.
Water Baths
![]() |
Thermometers with wide probe tips and a variety of infrared thermometers are sampled and tested using calibrated water baths. These baths can test up to three test points ensuring accuracy to within +/- 0.15 throughout the range.
